Here is a few screenshots I whipped up while testing it.
As you can see, it adds it straight into ForumW's posts. Very handy. and it only
shows up for rapidshare links so there is nothing to see unless there is a
rapidshare link.
Features and useful info:
- -this script adds a plus ("+") for alive links and a question mark ("?") for
dead links. this is very unintrusive.
-this has a keyboard shortcut (Shift+R) and also shows filesize of file
while hovering over link (somewhat useful)
-i have it enabled only to show up on ForumW.org, but you can have it work
wherever there are rapidshare links (other warez forums, google, blogs, etc)
-you must NOT be logged into rapidshare for this to work, if you are logged
in, you must disable "direct downloads" in rapidshare options, or it will
download every link it comes into contact with. i am never logged into my
account on Firefox (ok, very rarely), and use flashget to download and login
from there.
-when copying and pasting, the "+" and "?" DOES NOT copy!! so if you copy a
long list of links, only the links will copy.
-you do NOT need a premium or collectors account to use this tool
-this works for RS.com and RS.de!
1. Install Greasemonkey addon:
Code:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
2. Restart Firefox and make sure greasemonkey is enabled
= Enabled
= Disabled
3. Install rapidshare link checker script:
Code:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/13709.user.js
or install customized script with settings from step 4 integrated!
(skip step 4):
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/105903163/13709.user.js
4. go to greasemonkey options and set up like this image:
5. Press Shift+R to check links on page it seemed this script would screw up editing/creating posts that had rapidshare links in them. a simple fix is to add forumw.org/posting.php*
to the exclude list p.s. this addon does not screw up linkification links if you use that
I highly recommend linkification as well. it is for Firefox users only and allows you to click on links in ForumW.
Get it here:
Code:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/190
Let me know what you guys think or if you need help setting it up.
Remember:
always check the links before reporting a topic.
if the script says it is dead, check it before reporting. i just suggest this
script to help find dead links easier than clicking/copying-pasting each link to
test it.
